Current Projects
My current research is on the work of George Birkhoff, and in particular the development of dynamical systems theory. I am also interested in British mathematics of the early 20th century and have recently completed a study on the responses of Cambridge mathematicians to the First World War.

I am a member of the Council of the London Mathematical Society and the Society’s Librarian. I edit Historia Mathematica and I am a member of the Executive Committee of the International Commission on the History of Mathematics.
