June Barrow-Green awarded first ever Chandler Davis Prize

June Barrow-Green has been awarded the first ever Chandler Davis Prize for Expository Excellence by the Mathematical Intelligencer for her essay, "An American Goes to Europe: Three Letters from Oswald Veblen to George Birkhoff in 1913/1914."  The essay appeared in the Mathematical Intelligencer, Vol. 33, no. 4.

The Chandler Davis Prize for Expository Excellence has been established to encourage and reward excellent expository writing in mathematics, and will be awarded annually for an article or essay published in the Mathematical Inteliigencer within the previous three years. The prize has been created in honour of Chandler Davis, for his many years of outstanding service to the Mathematical Intelligencer.
