More or Less

Wednesday, Sep 1st 2010

The new series of More or Less, the lively, eclectic Radio 4 magazine programme devoted to numbers, started on Friday August 27th) at 1.30pm.

The programme, hosted by Tim Harford, is repeated on Sundays at 8pm and is also available as a free podcast downloadable from the BBC.

This is the 14th series of More or Less that The Open University has been involved in.

We all use numbers in so many ways to argue about, understand, and help make sense of the world around us.

More or Less looks at the way numbers are used in politics and economics and how they crop up in everyday life.

It unpicks the statistics, finds the truth behind the figures and looks for helpful ways of making sense of the torrent of numbers on all sides.
